M&A
M&A

We have together with Eversheds Sutherland UK and Spain advised Kommunalkredit Austria AG on the financing of Finland’s largest battery energy storage project.

The 100 MW / 200 MWh SIMO BESS, developed by Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) in partnership with AMPTank Energy, marks a significant milestone in Finland’s energy transition — strengthening grid stability, enabling greater renewable integration, and supporting decarbonisation across the Nordics.

We advised Kommunalkredit as sole arranger and lender on the term loan financing.

Our team comprised Partner Henrik Sandholm, Specialist Counsel Leena Pyymäki, Associate Sanni Tirkkonen and Associate Henri Minkkinen (Helsinki); Partner Mark Dennison, Partner Peter Greenall, Consultant David Wyles, Counsel Timothy H. and Associate Eunice W. (London); and Partner Teresa Villarroya Vargas and Eugenia García-Calzada Villar (Madrid).
