Major Residential Portfolio Transaction in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area

We advised the seller on the sale of a major residential portfolio comprising 13 freehold properties with a total of 999 apartments in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. The buyer was Storebrand Real Estate.

The portfolio covers approximately 54,100 sqms of leasable area across prime locations in Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa. The transaction represents one of the largest residential portfolio deals in the Finnish marketin recent years.

The transaction underscores the continued recovery in international investor confidence and appetite for substantial residential assets in Finland’s most liquid residential market.

Ragde Eiendom Sold Three Former Plantagen Properties in Finland

Norwegian real estate investor Ragde Eiendom AS has sold a portfolio of three retail properties in Finland formerly operated by the garden retail chain Plantagen.

The properties are located in Espoo, Porvoo, and Vaasa, with a combined lettable area of approximately 13,500 square meters. The retail sites were originally opened in 2008. The buyer and transaction price have not been disclosed.

The transaction follows the bankruptcy of Plantagen Finland in autumn 2024 and marks the repositioning of the properties for future use.

We advised Ragde Eiendom AS on the transaction.

We acted as legal counsel to SMBC BANK EU AG in connection with a €150 million sustainability-linked bilateral committed credit facility agreement granted to SATO Oyj.

SMBC Bank EU AG is part of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), one of Japan’s largest financial institutions and a key entity within the Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG).

SATO is one of Finland’s largest private residential rental housing providers, with a significant role in the Finnish housing market.
